Program Description

Event Details

If you enjoy reading a diverse mix of literary fiction and nonfiction, then this book club is for you! We read one book each month and meet on the third Thursday at 11 am or the fourth Tuesday at 6 pm to discuss it.

The November selection is Gilead by Marilynne Robinson.

In 1956, toward the end of Reverend John Ames’ life, he begins a letter to his young son, telling the story of his life and of the sacred bonds between fathers and sons, which are tested in his tender and strained relationship with his namesake. The story stretches from his grandfather, a minister in Maine who fought for abolition, to his present day.
